The Director of Health Promotion and Wellness is responsible for Health Education integration with all CommuniCare Health Centers programs. The Director is responsible for developing new programs and for supervision of employees, program evaluations and reporting. The Director will oversee both internal health education programs including sexual and reproductive health, chronic disease management, and wellness initiatives, as well as external health education through outreach in the community, schools, and migrant camps. The Director will oversee school-based clinical services and education as well as benefits enrollment, and will coordinate with other agencies, schools, and providers as necessary.

Lead the overall vision, structure, development, and management of the health promotion and wellness programs at CommuniCare Health Centers including the enhancement of internal health education programs. 2. Develop/manage health promotion and wellness programs which are integrated with current healthcare services and serve the health needs of CommuniCare patients. 3. Maintain compliance with grant requirements, including federal and local funding. Collaborate with other key staff to identify new grant opportunities and submit new proposals. 4. Coordinate management of fiscal and budget issues with CFO. Update policies and programs based on evaluation, evidence, and consensus with other health center leaders. 5. Manage health promotion and wellness employees: by participation in outreach programs, health fairs, school events and other community activities; support evidence-based models for health promotion and wellness. 6. Market the health centers' health promotion and wellness programs to other agencies and the community. 7. Recruit, hire, and supervise health promotion and wellness programs staff; supervise management of patient/client benefits' enrollment, patient engagement and outreach as well as internal health education programs. 8. Lead program staff meetings on an ongoing basis; participate in other CommuniCare-wide and community meetings as appropriate. 9. Maintain communication with multiple funding sources and represent CommuniCare in the community. 10. Other special projects as assigned.
Education & Experience: Master's degree in health and human service field or bachelor's degree and three or more years of experience working in related field with progressively increasing responsibility. Three or more years of experience directing, supervising, and facilitating Outreach Education Programs and Community Education. Supervisory experience in a social service or health related organization required. Proven experience developing and designing effective outreach and education programs and materials.
Special Skills/Equipment: Must be at least intermediate computer Microsoft Office computer user. Proof of current driver's license, auto insurance and personal transportation are required
