Holtz Children’s and Women’s Hospital is one of the largest academic children’s hospitals in the southeast United States and the only Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center located in southern Florida at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Miller School of Medicine. As a major referral center, Holtz Children's and Women’s Hospital not only provides medical and surgical services to a wide spectrum of our local population, but also to the most critically ill and high risk patients from across the nation and the international community.
The Nurse Educator is a professional member of the health care team who assumes advocacy and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time. The Nurse Educator provides a single standard of care to patients via the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment, instrumentation and other health care team members. Performs independently and seeks support/direction as needed. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of their patients; demonstrate knowledge of growth and development; assess data reflective of patient's status; and identify each patient's requirements relative to age specific needs. Performs specific job criteria/performance standards according to prevailing applicable unit, division hospital and professional standards.
Florida RN license required.
BSN required. Nurses that do not have a BSN upon hire must show proof of enrollment in an accredited RN to BSN program within six months of hire and completion of the program within two years.
Thirty-six (36) months experience in specialty area required.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
