Candidates are invited to join Ravenswood’s Integrated Behavioral Health Services team in a active, multicultural/ multilingual community-based primary health care clinic located in East Palo Alto. This dynamic position requires collaborating with Primary Care Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Behavioral Health Team clinicians, Health Coaches, and Community Partners providing psychosocial assessments of patient and family, providing a range of therapeutic interventions, including, but not limited to, crisis intervention and supportive counseling for patients and families, bereavement support, psychological testing, linkages to resources and social work multi-disciplinary case conferences. Ravenswood’s patient population is primarily Latino (70%), African American (15%) and Tongan/ Pacific Islander (10%). Forty percent of our patients are children.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess, evaluate, and provide crisis intervention in cases of domestic violence, child, dependent adult, or elder abuse, and other reportable situations in accordance with ethical practice, legal mandates, and clinic policies.
Educate, monitor, and refer patients to appropriate resources.
Provide brief, solution-focused intervention to include individual, family and group therapy.
Improve PCP-patient working relationship, and monitors with the primary care physician any “at risk” patients.
A clinical psychologist will also be expected to perform psychological testing.
Provide support and access to information to patients regarding legal issues, including custody, guardianship, consent, conservatorship, sensitive services for teens, and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care. Makes linkages to specialists serving in these fields.
Collaborates with primary care providers, behavioral clinicians, those responsible for case management, social services, referrals, and outreach. Organizes and facilitates multi-disciplinary care conferences.
Participates in RFHC’s Patient Centered Health Home and quality improvement activities.
Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability and openness to learning and becoming integrated in a primary care community health center/clinic model of behavioral health delivery including adapting to a flexible fluid daily schedule, changing client needs, in a growing clinic environment.
Expected to serve as a Clinician of the Day and will perform warm hand offs from staff as needed.
CA Licensed Clinical Psychologist OR CA Licensed Clinical Social Worker required.
Bilingual Spanish/English required

Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with a multi-disciplinary staff and with multiple community agencies and their staff.

Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data with ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports.
Ability to coach, supervise, train, and work respectfully and effectively with a culturally diverse clinic staff.
Basic computer skills.
Experience in a community clinic setting preferred.
