Southern Trinity Health Services, Inc. (STHS) is looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our team. We are located in one of the most remote areas in Northern California with offices in Mad River, Scotia and Weaverville, California. The Chief Financial Officer oversees all financial matters of the organization. He/She is responsible for all financial compliance, contracts, grants, and earned income. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Work closely with leadership team on planning, managing, and advising on overall financial performance in alignment with the company’s programmatic and strategic initiatives. • Lead budget planning and forecasting efforts. • Lead and oversee the activities of the Finance Department, ensuring that financial information is verifiable, auditable and timely. • Oversee financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, regular balance sheets, grant-specific financial reports, and other reports as needed. • Manage the coordination of the annual external audit and other regulatory agency filings (Medicare, Medicaid, IRS Form 990, etc.). • Provide monthly management reporting that informs leadership and the Board of Directors on the overall financial health of the organization, including information on financial performance compared to budget, receivables, cash flow, investments, debt, and any critical financial issues that could impact the company. • Ensure cash flow is managed successfully, including adequate cash reserves and/or cash contingency plans (e.g., line of credit), and the timely preparation of cash forecasts for senior leadership and the Board. • Establish, implement, monitor, and enforce internal controls, such as financial and accounting policies and procedures; provide recommendations for improvement. • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement payment methodologies including: contractual accounting, payment calculations, billing requirements and compliance issues. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages the accounting function along with billing/patient receivables and front desk personnel.
Preferred Experience: • Minimum of two years of progressive leadership experience in the health care industry, preferably in a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) is expected. • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. • Demonstrated management skills and expertise. • An innovative yet responsive leadership style, one that is centered in relationships with staff and community members. • Working knowledge of financial and operational management in the health care sector. • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations, as well as legislative initiatives, in the health care sector. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including grant writing experience. • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, both within the organization and with external partners.
