Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc. d/b/a CHCCC, Inc. seeks a Pediatrician - General in Santa Maria, CA. Must have MD in Medicine, 36 months of Medical Residency Training, Active Medical License in the State of California; Graduation from Medical Residency Program; Board Certification in Pediatrics is required to Secures and evaluates a patient's health history and records findings in a systematic accurate and succinct manner. Performs a physical assessment and is able to discriminate between normal and abnormal findings. Provides routine physical examinations, diagnostic services and treatment of illnesses and emergencies. Adheres to the highest standards of medical ethics at all times. Assures quality of care for all patients. Shares on-call responsibilities, when indicated, with other members of the medical staff. Elicits and records information about patient's medical history. Examines patient to determine general physical condition. Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Analyzes reports and findings of tests and of examination, and diagnoses condition. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases. Advises patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease. Reports births, deaths, and outbreak of contagious diseases to governmental authorities. Refers patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment. Performs minor surgery. Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admission to school, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insurance coverage. Assists the Medical Director in establishing medical policies, evaluating existing policies and developing changes in policies as necessary; designing, implementing, and evaluating education programs for patients and staff. Shares supervisory responsibilities of the nurse practitioner with the Clinical Director as required. Works within privileges and protocols as established by the Medical Director. Participates in committees as requested by the Medical Director. Demonstrates adherence to and observes all safety policies and procedures, inclusive of infection control rules and regulations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (infants, pediatrics). Demonstrates knowledge of domestic violence, child, and dependent abuse protocols. Maintains and adheres to HIPAA, confidentiality, and privileged communications (patient, employee, and corporation). A History of Quality Care
Community Health Centers of the Central Coast began operation in 1978, in a small building in Nipomo California, with 7 employees and a part-time volunteer doctor. As of early 2016 we have over 729 employees in 28 state-licensed clinics, and provide more than 450,000 visits annually.
Our health centers are located in San Luis Obispo County and Northern Santa Barbara C...ounty on the Central Coast of California. Our patient population includes low income, uninsured community members with special emphasis on special populations such as homeless, school-based, migrant and seasonal farm workers, and public housing residents.
Our primary care staffing includes: Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and OB/GYN Physicians. In addition, we have Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, Optometrists, Behavioral Health clinicians, Chiropractors, Registered Dietitians/Certified Diabetic Education, and other ancillary staff. In addition, to primary care we have a variety of specialists that provide services on-site or through telemedicine.
CHC has extended walk-in hours at several health centers in Paso Robles, Arroyo Grande, and Santa Maria that include extended evening hours and weekends.
CHC has one on-site pharmacy at its CHC Nipomo Health Center that fills more than 50,000 prescriptions per year for our patient population. The Pharmacy is open Monday-Saturday.
CHC has been Joint Commission Accredited since 1998, and most recently Joint Commission Primary Care Medical Home certified since 2014.
