Today, we operate four health centers with a team of 350 employees and an annual operating budget of 41.6 million dollars. Comprehensive services provided include: Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Women's Health, Ryan White Program and some specialty services, all of which created 160,669. encounters in 2018. Job Summary: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall organizational performance of Mendocino Community Health Clinic, Inc. This position leads and directs activities through effective implementation of policies and organizational goals and directives set forth by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors and the CEO assure MCHC’s relevance in the community, the accomplishment of our mission, and accountability to our diverse patient population. The CEO oversees all operations of MCHC toward our primary objectives based on local, state and federal health needs and requirements.
This is a strategic position, assessing and communicating long-range goals and providing the leadership needed for financial sustainability and efficient goal development and implementation. This leader shall exemplify and make strategic decisions based on MCHC’s values, mission and vision.

Leading change: Demonstrates understanding of the broader healthcare landscape, including legislation affecting the business and ensures that MCHC’s voice is heard when advocacy is called for. Consistently displays integrity, models desired behaviors, makes wise and timely decisions, develops people, and builds teams. Effectively deals with demanding situations and designs and implements interventions. Manages continuity, change and transition. Influences and engages/empowers others.
In addition to mastering the competencies listed above, the candidate should also demonstrate knowledge of and successful execution regarding:
FQHC rules and regulations, including reporting requirements;
Principles and practices of health planning and management sufficient to direct and oversee clinic operations;
Purposes, organization and policies of the community’s health systems sufficient to interact with other healthcare providers;
Principles and practices of employee development sufficient to ensure organizational productivity
Principles of accounting and financial management commensurate with administrative oversight of a $41.6 million dollar budget involving diverse revenue sources.
Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum three (3) years experience in a healthcare senior management position.
